SOMERTON SUMMER FESTIVAL 10th to 18th JULY

The 22nd annual Somerton Summer Arts Festival takes place from 10th to 18th July inclusive. This year’s Festival has over 30 events and is packed with a whole variety of music to suit all tastes. Mike Pender’s Searchers with local support band Tracks, Phil Dando Big Band, Ring of Fire – Johnny Cash Tribute, Trenchtown Experience – tribute band to Bob Marley and the Wailers, UK Bee Gees, Heroes No 1 tribute band to New Wave music of the 70’s & 80’s, The Firbirds - Rock’n’Roll, Folk evening with Martin Carthy & Martin Simpson, Dweeb youth band and not forgetting The Tremeloes who have had 21 hit records.

The ever popular Welsh Male Voice Choir this year is the Cwmbach Male Choir, Early English music with The York Waits, Drama “My Darling Clemmie by Hugh Whitemore performed by Rohan McCullough, Irish Night with the Canny Band plus The Festival Band Concert, Organ Recital etc.

Also an evening with Fred Wedlock, talk by David Heath MP, Quizzes, Somerton Young Musician of the Year, Art Exhibition. Not forgetting the Saturday open air Market & Craft Fair with free entertainment and Sunday’s Fun Day including a World War 1 display by the 10TH Essex Regiment Click here for information
