SOMERTON CINEMA The LOVE PUNCH SATURDAY 20 SEPTEMBER 2014 7.00 FOR 7.30PM.AT THE PARISH ROOMS With locations in Paris, London and the French Riviera, THE LOVE PUNCH brings together Pierce Brosnan and Academy-Award winner Emma Thompson for the first time, as ex-husband and wife, whose biting banter suggests that the flames of their former relationship have not been fully extinguished. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for their retirement nest egg which is wiped out when Richard's investment firm is defrauded and the pension fund is siphoned away. Learning that the unscrupulous French financier behind the scheme has just purchased a $10m diamond for his bride to be, the divorced duo grudgingly agree to set aside their differences, and hatch a plot to gate-crash the wedding and steal the rock. Roped in to assist in the heist are the couple's former neighbours who are also rooting for their reconciliation. The foursome form an unlikely band of lawbreakers in this classic comedy caper set against the sun drenched backdrop of the Cote d'Azur. (Run Tme: 95mins) Next Feature : THE TWO FACES OF JANUARY – Saturday 18 October. To be shown in the Somerton Parish Rooms, Market Place, 7.00pm for 7.30pm. Heart of the Levels Group. meeting with talk by David Bloag. The Life of a Wildlife Photographer - David Boag This entertaining lecture spans 35 years of photography and take us to 5 continents. The questions David is most often asked are about his ‘favourites’! What are the pictures you are most pleased with – what is the best place you have visited – which subjects do you most enjoy photographing? These are impossible questions to answer because ones opinion constantly changes. How can you possibly compare the Queensland tropical rain forest with the desert of Utah; or compare the delicate but vibrant sunbirds with the power and majesty of a bald eagle? It may be impossible but, in this lecture, he is going to try! Working his way through his commissions over a span of 30 years, he brings us right up to date with his latest and most exciting project. Members £2.50 . Non members £3.00
