SOMERTON BUSINESS & TRADE DIRECTORY 2009 / 2010

The Association is now in the process of producing the 11th edition of the Somerton Business & Trade Directory 2009/2010 that will be printed in full colour. The 2007/2008 edition received a very good response from both the business and the local community.

The 2009/2010 edition will be ready for distribution early 2009. This will be delivered to over 11,100 addresses by the Royal Mail door to door delivery service who guarantee delivery to every letter box in the postal areas TA10, TA11 and TA12, which includes Somerton, Langport, Martock and surrounding villages.

Members of the Association will receive a FREE line entry under there chosen category heading, ie Accountants, Bed and Breakfast, Builders, etc. with their address, phone number, E-Mail address and website address if required. You can create a brand new category heading if required. So please fill in the form for your FREE entry.

You do not have to be a member of the association to have an entry or advert in the directory. If you are not a member and have a Business in Somerton the membership fee is only £30.00, which will take you through to December 1st 2009, and of course you will get your FREE line entry saving £22.00. If you wish to join please send your membership fee with your order form for entry in to the directory.

Project 2007 / 2008

First published in 1987 it has proved to be a very useful addition to the main directories. Somerton is small by many standards but shops carry an outstanding range of stock and quality, providing a personal service that still makes shopping in Somerton a pleasure, this also applies to the wide range of non retail services it has to offer.

This 10th edition was distributed free to all letter boxes in the TA10, TA11 and TA12 postal addresses, which covers Langport, Somerton, Martock and the surrounding areas, over 11,100 copies. If any extra copies are required they are available from the London Cigarette Card Company situated in West Street at the entrance to the Brunel Shopping Precinct car park in Somerton.

For 2007-08 edition Mobile and Fax numbers have been included and with the ever increasing use of the computer, E-Mail and Website addresses have also been included.

Project 2007

Somerton Tourist Leaflet

As their project for 1995 the Association produced a Somerton Tourist Leaflet with the support of South Somerset District Council, Somerton Parish Council and Mid Somerset Rural Development Area Community Chest. These proved to be very popular and reprints were printed in 1997 and 2000.

In 2003/2004 a new version was printed with over 95,000 copies. This was made possible due to support from Somerset Levels and Moors Partnership, Leader +, South Somerset District Council, Defra and Somerton Town Council.

In February 2007 a further revised version was printed 92,000 copies. This also made possible due to support from The Somerton Town Council and Somerton Tourism and Heritage Partnership.

The leaflets are available free from the Somerton Town Council Office in the Parish Rooms, the local Tourist Information Office in in West Street or The London Cigarette Card Company Shop in West Street.
