SUMMARY:Octoberfest
DESCRIPTION:Due to unforeseen circumstances\, it has sadly become necessary to cancel Oktoberfest this year.\nIn true Oktoberfest style\, the beer\, the band and the food will have a real flavour of Bavaria. Oktoberfest is back with traditional Bavarian Oom-pah band the Sherbavarian Stompers bringing you a night of Bavarian style music with a selection of brass instruments and a piano accordion\, for that authentic Bavarian sound. Once you’re all Oom-pah’d out\, dance the night away to the sounds of the Painkillers and DJ Ray. \nThe fabulous Wagonkered Bar will be back again with its usual selection of fine German beers\, as well as a range of other beverages. The food\, too\, has a German flavour and is included in the ticket price.

SUMMARY:Parrett Community Shed Start Up Meeting
DESCRIPTION:A Community Shed is being set up for everyone in Langport\, Somerton\, Huish Episcopi\, Curry Rivel\, Aller and the surrounding villages. It will provide a place to pursue practical interests at leisure\, to practice skills and enjoy making and mending with the aim of enhancing social connections amongst our members\, sharing skills and knowledge\, friendship building and fellowship to help reduce loneliness and isolation. It will be like a Men’s Shed but open to everyone. \nWe have found a suitable building near Langport that we can use and we have plans to modify it to meet our needs. We now need people to make it happen and use the facilities that will be provided. \nOur plan is to to get the Shed fully open early in the New Year but we need people with relevant skills to get involved before then to transform the building to make it suitable for our needs. If you are interested in helping us set the shed up or making use of its facilities once it is open\, please come along to Langport Town Hall at 7:30pm on Wednesday 14th September to find out more about what we are doing and how you can help or get involved.
