Grand Finale – Come to the Cabaret!!

Here we are again we reach the end of another Somerton Festival. We hope that you have had a wonderful time so far and that you will join us and enjoy a cabaret night to remember with three very enjoyable acts. During the evening we shall be announcing the winners of the various competitions and seeing who has won the prizes in the Festival Draw. It is also the time when the overworked committee can let their down, relax, and have the odd glass of shandy(!!!) to celebrate the end of all their hard work. The following are the three acts to enjoy in this Cabaret Night.

STEWART MASTERS Based in the West Country, this versatile comedian / compare has worked the club circuit for about 22 years, firstly as part of a successful double act, then for the past 14 years as a successful solo act. Going solo enabled him to change direction to some extent from an adult only act to a more family based humour and has recently been working one nighters at Butlin’s and a variety of venues for the Courage Entertains Tour, whilst still being very busy on the club scene. Since 2006 he has also been very busy supporting sports stars on the after dinner / sportsman’s dinner evenings, working with Neil (Razor) Ruddock, Gareth Chilcott, David Lloyd, Sir Geoff Hurst, Denis Law and Gordon Banks to name a few. With his own laid back West Country style, he is loved by audiences everywhere. Sponsored by A D Accountancy Group

CELTIC STORM is an illusion and dance spectacular, set to the moving and powerful backdrop of Celtic rhythms and beats. This is a fast paced show with excellent costume changes, so quick you won't believe your eyes. The production consists of outstanding stage illusions and is filled with up close magic that will deceive the mind. Magician and assistant will amaze you with superbly choreographed Irish dance routines with music taken from “Lord of the Dance” and “River Dance”. This is a show that young and old alike will remember for years to come. In 2004 Martin and Kerry Jo Gardiner – Celtic Storm - performed exclusively 7 nights a week for the renowned “Wheeltappers and Shunters Club”, Benidorm on the bill amongst artists such as Frank Carson, Stan Boardman, Mike Miller and Mike Reid to name but a few. THE TREMELOES must certainly be documented as one of the most successful rock/pop bands in musical history.  Founded in 1958 in Dagenham, Essex they have 21 hit records in every territory, including America, is endorsement enough of the superb talent.  The Tremeloes are one of the longest surviving, still playing regularly more than 50 years after the group's founding. Some of there hits include “Silence is Golden” which went to number 1 in 1967, Suddenly you love me, “Even the Bad Times are Good” which reached number 4, - just a taster of what’s to come from this great band.
