To help out at the Festival see below!
The Festival is run by a committee of unpaid volunteers from all walks of life and ages. We meet regularly at the White Hart Inn, Market Square Somerton. Tasks are undertaken on a voluntary basis with committee members taking on as much or as little as they feel they can cope with. If you are interested in say helping to organize the funday or helping with publicity, working behind the scenes moving chairs etc, or dealing with the artists why not consider joining. You do not have to have had any previous experience, we are always in need of help to put together the souvenir programme, selling adverts, proof-reading etc. The whole atmosphere is very laid back and friendly, there are lots of laughs, a bit of leg pulling, a few sensible suggestions and we even find time to replenish our drinks halfway through the evening. At the end of the day the Festival Committee is fun, interesting and very rewarding.

The festival ticket office is at The London Cigarette Card Company's Shop in West Street, Somerton where tickets, programmes, souvenirs etc. are sold, just drop in and someone will be able to help with information.
Any input is welcome whatever form it takes. We rely on ideas and feedback from the public to put the festival together. It is this input that lets us know what is wanted. So if you would like a talk on a particular subject or there is a type of music not catered for, please let us know.
During the actual week of festival we need many helpers, mainly during the first weekend. All that is asked is that you run a stall or game for a couple of hours, or maybe help out in the refreshment area. Like the committee, you will not be paid but it is rewarding and good fun.
We are always looking to recruit new members/helpers and this year with some of our group having decided to take a break from committee work, the need for new faces is greater than ever. In particular we are keen to welcome people who would be interest in identifying and booking acts such as choirs and shall we say the "non pop/rock" events. In all cases help and advice will be given. If the Festival is to continue with the success it has achieved over the past years it is essential that some new blood/ideas be introduced. So come along and give up a little of your time to be sure the ongoing success of the Festival and at the same time, have some fun.
These popular annual events, held on the first weekend of Festival week take up a lot of man (and woman)-power to erect tents, organise stalls and the like. If you can give a couple of hours of your time on the first Saturday or Sunday please contact the Chairman or any committee member or leave name and phone number at the Ticket Office.
We're always looking for help to sell Festival programmes. If anyone can assist by selling Souvenir Festival programmes in their street or at their office or workplace, then we'd be very pleased to hear from you. As you know, the Festival is organised by a small committee of unpaid volunteers, so there will be no financial reward - just the knowledge that you've done your bit to help the ongoing success of this annual Somerton event. Any profit from selling programmes goes towards meeting the cost of the numerous free events that we hold in Festival week, for example the Art Exhibition, Market Fair, Fun Day etc. If you can help in any way, please contact any committee member, or call in at the ticket office at the London Cigarette Card Co, shop, West Street.
