So come along and ask questions about our countryside and the environment to David Heath. How green is our MP? Climate change – how will it affect Somerset? TREORCHY MALE CHOIR
* TICKETS SOLD OUT *
"The Master Choir of them all" – Sir Anthony HopkinsChoirs have flourished in the Rhondda Valley for more than a hundred and fifty years and nowhere has this been better represented than in Treorchy. One of its first male choirs was formed in the inauspicious surroundings of the Red Cow Hotel in 1883 and developed into a national eisteddfod winner, culminating in a royal command performance for Queen Victoria at Windsor Castle. The present Treorchy Male Choir has recently celebrated its Diamond Jubilee Anniversary since it was reformed under the baton of John Haydn Davies. This remarkable man led them on to musical distinction in the eisteddfod field by gaining a record eight national wins, making a total of twenty-two first prizes out of twenty-seven entries. They made regular radio broadcasts, television appearances, commercial recordings, two feature films and an overseas tour to Switzerland. www.treorchymalechoir.org
