TERMS OF REFERENCE FOR THE INDIVIDUAL COUNCIL COMMITTEE 'BRIGHTER SOMERTON':

The Brighter Somerton Committee has the following areas of competence and responsibility:

1. To encourage individual residents of the town to participate in projects to promote the ‘appearance’ of the town: e.g. Best Kept Gardens; Christmas Lighting.

2. To facilitate the ‘official’ Christmas lights for the town, in conjunction with all other parties involved.

3. To seek to promote the town of Somerton in any manner considered appropriate for a local authority, e.g. Nature Trail; Floral displays.

4. To establish a written, annual Committee budget, in the autumn of each year, for approval by the Town Council, to enable the promotion of the town to take place and to encourage greater interest in the town from within.
