TERMS OF REFERENCE FOR THE INDIVIDUAL COUNCIL COMMITTEE 'FOOTPATHS':

The Footpaths Committee has the following areas of competence and responsibility:

1. The monitoring of the condition of existing public footpaths, liaising with SSDC/SCC on problems encountered, they being the responsible authorities concerned.

2. To consider suggestions from residents on improvements to the footpath network, seek support for improvements identified and encourage use of the footpaths around the town, by for example producing the ‘walks booklet’ for the town and surrounding area.

3. To act on complaints, whether written, or oral, by informing the relevant authority.

4. To establish a written, annual Committee budget, in the autumn of each year, for the approval by the Town Council, to enable the approved works to be undertaken.
