TERMS OF REFERENCE FOR THE INDIVIDUAL COUNCIL COMMITTEE 'RECREATION':

The Recreation Committee has the following areas of competence and responsibility:

1. To monitor the condition of the play areas under Town Council control, in conjunction with SSDC and RoSPA inspections and to respond accordingly to actions required, in conjunction with the Town Clerk and the Council’s employees, who are responsible for the day-to-day management of the sites.

2. To carry out the administrative duties required by the Trust Deed for the Memorial Playing Field site, in conjunction with the Town Council which is the Custodian Trustee for the site.

3. To consider future play area provision around the town and seek support (in terms of both advice and financial assistance) from SSDC and other Agencies.

4. To establish a written, annual budget, in the autumn of each year, for approval by the Town Council, to enable the approved improvement works and maintenance to be implemented in an orderly manner.
