TERMS OF REFERENCE FOR THE INDIVIDUAL COUNCIL COMMITTEE 'STREET LIGHTING':

The Street Lighting Committee has the following areas of competence and responsibility:

1. Liaison with the competent authority (SCC) over the on-going maintenance of the existing public lighting on the highways around the town.

2. Consideration of improvements to, and the allocation of appropriate funding for, the public lighting system for the town, in consultation with SCC.

3. The provision and maintenance of lighting to serve land controlled by the Town Council.

4. Liaison with other Committees where projects for improvements overlap Committee responsibilities.

5. To establish a written, annual budget, in the autumn of each year, for approval by the Town Council, to enable the approved works to be implemented in an orderly manner.
