30 years in the Brewing Industry – Reminiscences and Beer Tasting with Martyn Smith – Part of the Somerton Music and Arts Festival

Martyn Smith joined the British brewing industry in 1970 in Burton on Trent, the “Brewing Capital” of Great Britain. Over the next 30 years, he worked in several locations in the UK, finishing in 2000 after a three year stint in
the Caribbean. 

During this time there were humorous incidents, significant technical changes and some exciting technological discoveries. This talk will be part autobiographical and part technological – it will certainly involve a bit of
tasting!

Please do not eat anything highly flavoured beforehand and please do not plan to drive yourself home!
