80th anniversary of D-Day Beacon Lighting Ceremony

There will be a beacon lighting ceremony at the recreation ground in Gassons Lane. Due to expected numbers you would be urged to walk if possible as parking will be limited to Blue Badge holders only sadly.

The Somerton Concert Band will play, and the beacon will be lit at 9.15pm in line with all the other beacons across the country, by ex-Wren Pamela Miley.

There will be other entertainment to mark the ceremony, and The Club will be open for drinks and Somerton Rugby Club will be onsite with their Saxon Kitchen burger stand.
